How to Protect Your Web-Link Password

Disabling your browser's ability to remember passwords and account information is an important security measure that should be taken when using programs such as ASEBA Web-Link. By default browsers will ask users if they would like their passwords remembered for easier subsequent logins.

To disable this feature follow these instructions:
Internet Explorer 6 FireFox 2 Internet Explorer 5.5 Mac
Internet Explorer 7 Netscape Navigator AOL 7

Disabling password caching in Internet Explorer 6
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click on Tools.
3. Click on Internet Options.
4. Click on Content.
5. Click on AutoComplete.
6. Uncheck User names and passwords on forms.
7. Click on Clear Passwords.
8. Click on OK.
8. Click on OK.
9. Click on OK.
10. Click on OK.

Disabling password caching in Firefox 2 and higher for Windows
1. Open FireFox.
2. Click on Tools.
3. Click on Options.
4. Click on Security.
5. Uncheck Remember passwords for sites.
6. Click on Privacy.
7. Click on Clear Now….
8. Click on Clear Private Data Now.
9. Click on OK.

Disabling password caching in Netscape Navigator 7 and higher for Windows
1. Open Netscape Navigator.
2. Click on Edit.
3. Click on Preferences….
4. Double click on Privacy and Security.
5. Click on Passwords.
6. Uncheck Remember passwords.
7. Click on Manage Stored Passwords.
8. Click on Remove All.
9. Click on Close.
10. Click on OK.

Disabling password caching in Internet Explorer 7
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click on Tools.
3. Click on Internet Options.
4. Click on Delete….
5. Click on Delete Passwords….
6. Click on Yes.
7. Click on Close.
8. Click on Content.
9. Under the AutoComplete section click on Settings.
10. Uncheck User names and passwords on forms.
11. Click on OK.
12. Click on OK.

Disabling password caching in Internet Explorer 5.5 and higher (Macintosh)
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Open the Tools menu on the menu bar near the top of the screen.
3. Select Internet Options at the bottom of the menu.
4. In the Internet Options dialog box, choose the Content tab at the top.
5. In this screen press the AutoComplete button.
6. Uncheck the "User names and passwords on forms" and "Prompt me to save passwords" check boxes.
7. Click OK

Disabling password caching in AOL 7.0 for Windows
1. Open AOL.
2. Open Settings, Preferences.
3. Select Internet Properties.
4. In the Internet Options dialog box, choose the Content tab at the top.
5. In this screen, press the AutoComplete button.
6. Uncheck the "User names and passwords on forms" and "Prompt me to save passwords" check boxes.
7. Click Ok.
