Back to Top Now, files of data for analysis are available as standard output directly in Web-Link.
Previously, to obtain files of data for analysis, Web-Link users had to purchase Assessment Data Manager (ADM), then export data from Web-Link, then import the data into ADM, then export the data for analysis.

ASEBA has removed ADM as the "middle man" in this process. To obtain data for analysis, simply check the box during key entry or set up of electronic forms. More information on file format, concatenation of multiple files, and conducting analyses can be found here.
Back to Top ASEBA has added two features that allow you to assign two users in your account, rather than one, to receive data for download into ADM and two users, rather than one, to receive scored profiles and narratives from any form. This wider sharing applies to key-entered forms as well as electronic forms completed online by your respondents.
Data Download to ADM
Web-Link customers include service agencies that share a Web-Link account as part of a larger, “umbrella”, agency. Designating the second ADM data recipient allows the service agency to obtain rating form data for their ADM while automatically sending the same rating form data directly to the umbrella agency from Web-Link. This feature saves the service agency the time and labor of importing the rating form data into ADM, exporting it to a transfer file and sending the transfer file to the umbrella agency. This feature also removes the potential errors and confusion that can arise from that rather complicated process.
Scored profiles and narratives
A similar feature is available for sharing scored profiles and narratives. This type of sharing is efficient and a clincially useful tool when scored output is needed by two users. For example, the clinician conducting a counselling session needs a profile as soon as it is entered. That same profile can also be sent to your medical records person to be included in the patient’s chart. Another example of this convenient feature is to allow a supervisor to see the profile that her trainee will use to write up a psychological assessment.

Back to Top In addition to the supervisor equivalent and regular user types, ASEBA has added the "Manager" and "Restricted" user types to Web-Link. Other improvements to user management have also been made.
You can now benefit from two new user types in your Web-Link account.
The Manager User, like a Supervisor Equivalent, can add new users to your account. The access to account functions that a Manager User has does differ significantly from the access a Supervisor Equivalent has. The Manager User can only change or remove users they have added, cannot view output for any user in the account, and cannot change account default settings.
The Restricted User has a lower level of permissions than a Regular User. The Restricted User does not have access to any "Personal Settings" options except the options to receive e-mail notifications and set an e-mail address.
Learn more about user types
Other changes to user management include:

  • Requiring all supervisor-issued passwords must be changed the first time a user logs in.
  • The "Personal Settings" preferences, including email address and user group, can be set by the supervisor or manager when a new user is added to Web-Link.
  • A new account report showing the "Family Tree" of users (which users were added by other users) is available on the Account Reports screen.
  • Back to Top Multicultural scoring is now available for ASEBA school age forms CBCL 6/18, TRF 6/18, and YSR 11/18
ASEBA has collated data from CBCL, TRF, and YSR forms obtained in 36 countries.  While the mean raw scores were similar, the distribution of the scores showed that there were clusters of countries, or societies, with relatively lower and higher scores.
ASEBA has developed three sets of norms to reflect distributions of ASEBA scale scores from cultures with relatively low, intermediate, and high scores.  These norms are used to assign T-scores for ASEBA school-age forms scales.  Multicultural scoring thus allows you to evaluate scores obtained in different societies with more precision than using a single set of norms for all children.
Multicultural scoring is determined by the culture of the respondent (parent, teacher, or youth), not the child being rated. Depending on the society of the respondent, a T-score may be higher than, lower than, or the same as the T-score assigned to the same raw score for the average of all societies.
Thus, a T-score in the normal range can be assigned to a raw score for a relatively high reporting culture, while the same raw score could be assigned a T-score in the borderline or clinical range for a relatively low reporting culture.  The multicultural basis of the scoring reflects the differences in base rates in reporting of behavior problems.  These rates vary by respondent class (parents, youths, teachers) and society.
In addition, the 2007 scales are now scored for school age forms.  These new scales are the Obsessive-Compulsive Problems (OCP); Posttraumatic Stress Problems (PTSP); Sluggish Cognitive Tempo (SCT; CBCL/6-18 and TRF only); and Positive Qualities (PQ; YSR only).
These scales do not require new rating forms - they reflect new scoring of the existing forms.  Also new is the addition of a Personal Strengths scale to the Adult Behavior Checklist and Adult Self-Report form.
Back to Top Shared Web-Link Output & Improved E-Unit Auditing
Now you can choose to direct a profile and/or narrative to two recipients. Simply choose your recipients when you are ready to submit the key-entered form or electronic form request.
For wider data sharing, users can now be organized into groups. An account can contain as many user groups as you wish. Specific members of a group may optionally be allowed to view output sent to any member of the group.
E-units can be assigned to a specific user group or charged to the account at large. This allows you to track e-unit usage more closely. New reports are available to help you audit e-unit usage by individuals, by groups, and for the account as a whole.

Back to Top Respondents resume electronic form entries at the last screen where they were working
Respondents using electronic forms can save their answers and return later to finish the form. Now they are automatically returned to the screen they were using when they clicked the Save button to exit the previous entry session.
Back to Top See a report of e-unit usage for one individual user, or as a summary report with details for all users
Two new e-unit usage reports are now available from the "Account Reports" link on your Account Manager screen. As always, you can view overall e-unit usage for your entire account. A new report has been added that displays e-unit usage for all the users in your account with details for each user. A second report displays e-unit usage for an individual user.
All three reports display a cross-tabulation of units used by form type and function (key entry, electronic forms, paper rating forms and scoring).
Back to Top Comments in on-line forms are more browser-friendly
Previously, some on-line respondents' browsers may have incorrectly blocked the comment windows from appearing, treating them as "pop-ups". All comments for the CBCL, TRF, YSR and ASR have been redesigned to avoid this problem. Also, a box is checked next to items containing comments so that the user can identify at a glance which items have comments associated with them.
Back to Top Support for Firefox 2.0 added to Web-Link and www.entry-online.org
ASEBA Web-Link has tested and recommends Firefox 2.0 for our Mac OSX users. Changes have been made to the on-line entry site WWW.Entry-Online.org to accomodate this browser software. On-line respondents will now enjoy a trouble-free experience if they are using a Mac OSX computer.
For more information, including a link to download Firefox, please refer to our software recommendations.
Back to Top Expiration period extended to 35 days for Web-Link output
To provide more flexibility and convenience for our Web-Link customers, we have extended the expiration period to 35 days for profiles, narratives, electronic form entry reports, and data transfer files to download to ADM. The previous expiration period was 14 days. This change takes affect for all new electronic form requests and key-entry sessions occurring on June 3, 2006 or later. Output for electronic form requests created before June 3, 2006 and not yet completed and submitted will expire within 14 days. Any output currently displayed in your Profiles/Data Ready to Download list will still be subject to the 14 day expiration period.
Please note: The expiration period for rating forms and electronic form requests has not changed. Rating forms expire after 1 day. Electronic form requests expire after 60 days.
Back to Top Web-Link is expanding to accommodate our international customers
In cooperation with the ASEBA distributor for the Netherlands and France (Jan van der Ende, web-site www.aseba.nl), Dutch language rating forms (CBCL, TRF and YSR) are now available to be printed for respondents to complete.
Back to Top Older Adult Behavior Checklist/60-90+ and Older Adult Self-Report Form/60-90+ are now available
The Older Adult ASEBA rating forms for ages 60 and over are now available for key entry, electronic form entry, and as rating forms to be printed. E-units charges are the same as for other Web-Link forms. ADM 6.0 or higher is required to import downloaded data transfer files from Web-Link into ADM.
Back to Top Administrator can allow names to be displayed on Web-Link output
Now administrators can allow account users the option to display child, adult, and respondent names on profiles, narratives, and electronic form entry reports produced on Web-Link. The administrator first grants permission in the Account Setup. Then account users can choose to display names as an option in their individual Personal Settings.
Back to Top Choose your own completion date for electronic form requests
Instruct electronic form respondents to complete on-line entry within the timeframe that best meets your needs. When creating an electronic form request, choose any date within the Web-Link automatic expiration period. This customized date will be included in the request letter. The automatic expiration date remains in effect and respondents will still have the full period available if more time is needed for completion.
Back to Top Netscape 7.0 for Mac recommended for Web-Link
Mac OS 9 and OS X users have full use of Web-Link using the Netscape 7.0 browser (see configuration information). Netscape can be used for both the Entry-Online site (www.entry-online.org) and for key entry of forms at www.web-link.org. Download Netscape 7.0 for free. For information about configuring Netscape 7.0 to work with Web-Link, click here.
Back to top Preschool and Adult forms now available!
Preschool and Adult ASEBA forms have been added to Web-Link. These forms include the Caregiver-Teacher Report Form for Ages 1˝ to 5, the Child Behavior Checklist for Ages 1˝ to 5 & Language Development Survey, the Adult Behavior Checklist for Ages 18-59, and the Adult Self-Report Form for Ages 18-59. All Web-Link functions can be applied to the new forms: print a rating form, key-enter responses, request an electronic form entry and report, score entered data, and transfer data to ADM version 5.0, our PC product. E-units are charged in the same way as they are charged for School-age forms.
Back to top Use your credit card to order more e-units and renew your account
Adding e-units or renewing your account is now made easier. Use your MasterCard or Visa to order directly from within your Web-Link account. Click on the link on the Account Manager page in the Account Maintenance area and follow the instructions. Your new units will be applied immediately.
Back to top Mozilla for Mac and Windows added to Entry-Online
The Entry-Online site, www.entry-online.org (Electronic Form entry site for direct client entry) now supports the Mozilla browser. Mozilla provides a stable browser for entry online, for both Macintosh and Windows computers. Mozilla is available free from Mozilla.org. NOTE: Mozilla is NOT supported for key entry of forms.
Back to top Electronic Form Entry reports
Now you can get a report of all responses and comments made by a respondent during electronic form entry. Choose to create the report in Account Settings, Personal Settings, or while selecting your output options when creating an Electronic Form Request. The report is 4 or more pages, depending on the number of comments made. Download the report to your PC or view the report from the Profiles / Data Ready to Download area and select the pages you want to print.
Best of all -- there is no unit charge!
Back to top Easier e-unit management
When your remaining unit count reaches 50 you are automatically reminded that your units are low. This reminder displays on the Account Manager page until your unit count exceeds 50. Use the unit order form found in the Account Maintenance area on the Account Manager page.
